(AI) Software Engineer 3.0

RemotePolandFull-time30 000 - 36 000 PLN

2026 is a big year for Sigmoidal. It's been exactly 10 years since we started as one of Poland's first AI companies, back before it was fashionable and long before the OpenAI era.

We began with experience from Silicon Valley and companies like Mozilla, BCG, and Jane Street. Those connections let us build our first models for large companies back when the first self-driving Tesla was still turning heads around the world.

Today our team is made up of people who've worked at McKinsey, Google, PwC, Capgemini, and Kraken. We're remote-first, and we build AI systems that support the real-time management of more than $200B in assets. At that scale, what counts is skill and professionalism, no matter where you live. We work with clients on a consulting basis, which is why everyone on the team is senior+.

About the role:

At Sigmoidal, we build solutions side by side with our clients' teams, the same teams behind tools like Claude and Perplexity.

That vantage point lets us see how the role of Software Engineering is shifting inside organizations:

Software Engineer 1.0 wrote code. Software Engineer 2.0 trained models. Software Engineer 3.0 ships working products by programming in an AI-native way.

Andrej Karpathy put it well: "The hottest new programming language is English." The AI Software Engineer 3.0 pairs the craft of an experienced engineer with the ability to get the most out of generative AI tools like Cursor and Claude Code.

What you'll be doing

  • Context: Our client's business teams have started building their own apps with Claude. That's quickly grown into a sprawling ecosystem of tools built for very specific needs.
  • Problem: These solutions usually aren't ready for production.
  • Your role: You turn prototypes and drafts into production systems that are secure and maintainable, working directly with stakeholders. And you do it using a tool that you help build and that we improve with every new deployment.

Who is this role for?

  • You have at least 5 years of commercial experience as a full-stack engineer/software developer or in a similar role.
  • Preparing and running production deployments has been part of your job, from cleaning up an application, to configuring environments, to deployment and ongoing maintenance in AWS (Amazon EKS, Kubernetes, Docker).
  • You move easily between the technical and the business side. You understand what users need and can translate that into concrete technical solutions.
  • You work with both SQL and NoSQL databases, and you design and build integrations between systems (REST API, MCP).
  • You're genuinely interested in modern AI development tools and can make effective use of solutions like Claude in your day-to-day work.
  • Your English is excellent, and you understand the nuances of communicating with an American corporate client.
  • You speak conversational Polish. Internally at Sigmo, we communicate in Polish.

What it's like working with Sigmoidal

  • We're remote-first. Poland, anywhere in the EU, no problem. And if you'd rather work from an office now and then, ours is in Wrocław.
  • We provide the equipment and the work setup.

Our recruitment process

  • Stage 1, Intro call (45 min): You'll meet our recruiter, Maja. She'll walk you through the details of the project and ask about your motivation, your experience working with international teams, and how you approach putting AI into production.
  • Stage 2, Culture fit (1h): Here you'll meet Zosia, our Head of People. We'll check how well you fit the way we work, and whether our values and expectations line up.
  • Stage 3, Technical interview (1–1.5h): A technical and business conversation with Marcin. Expect some challenging questions. :)
  • Stage 4, Meeting the client's team (30–60 min): A technical interview in English.
  • Stage 5, Decision and offer: If we both see potential in working together, we'll reach out about an offer. If we decide to move forward, we'll kick off the contract process, preboarding, and getting you ready to join the team.

At Sigmoidal, we respect your time and care about giving candidates a good experience throughout our process. You'll hear back about the outcome no matter what we decide or which stage you're at.
